How are assessments and evaluations different?

Assessments are more of a check in for the learner, while evaluations have to do more with feedback for both the learner and the learner experience.

What are some reasons we use both assessments and evaluations?

Assessments help to make sure the learner is understanding the material, and that the main objectives of a lesson are being achieved. Evaluations offer opportunities for future growth for both the learner and the learning experience.

Even experts confuse these, did you have trouble differentiating between the four types of assessments and evaluations? Why or why not?

I struggled a bit at first with the difference between a formative assessment and evaluation - but found that reviewing the discussion board and class examples helped to clarify.
